Loving this Color!

I’m obsessed with this color of shoe. It’s one of the most popular colors this season and every time I see it, it makes me happy. That being said, I don’t see myself being able to wear it with every outfit and it’s not a classic so I’m hesitant to shell out the big bucks for a Giuseppe Zanotti ($795).

This pair in the “Saffire” [sic] color, by Ivanka Trump, caught my eye. I have to admit, I’m a bit of a label snob and the name on the label is not one I would brag about but the shoe has all the elements that would work well for me in this color….and it has a nice high heel (a must for this lady!) that is four inches but with a 1-inch platform that would balance it out to be comfortable.

I can see it with jeans or a dress and the reviews on Endless.com are very positive. They are currently half price and, at only $70.00, I can see them as a worthwhile addition to my wardrobe and look forward to wearing them all season long.

I’ll take them!

What I Wore Done Mad Men Style

I often follow and view other blogs so that I can enjoy the style of the fashionable women out there. Unfortunately, many of the looks are not “doable” for the average woman. Today’s entry for “What I Wore” caught my eye. Mad Men fashions are all the rage lately and Jessica Quirk has this look down pat. I love the colors and fabrics that she used in putting together this stylish but economical look. Of course Jessica is much more talented than some of us (okay, I mean Me) because she sewed this dress in a weekend!

Don’t you find that on the days that you run out of the house with no makeup and wearing disheveled clothes to do a quick errand, you run into everyone you know? I’m making more of an effort to do that last minute mirror check before I dash out. Not only will I look better but I’ll get my errands done faster because we know that you never run into anyone when you’re looking your best. :-)  

I’m ready for destiny.

I attended the wedding yesterday of friends of mine who have been courting for thirteen years! We were so happy to see them tie the knot. In between celebrating, I had the opportunity to snap a couple of pictures.

The groom has never been a conformist and I love the way he expressed himself in a fabulous tuxedo complete with fedora. The bride was quite elegant in her wedding attire adorned with a lovely facinator veil.  

You’ll also see a very stylish lady wearing a striking hat. She announced that she was in her seventies. I loved her style!

I’m wearing a beautiful Badgley Mischka dress that was given to me by my husband several years ago along with Claudio Milano Swarovski crystal shoes, a purse I picked up on my travels, a Swarovski Lunar Moonlight necklace, and a White House Black Market bracelet.

Romantic Curls

We often look at other photos for inspiration but how many of us actually follow through with attempting to replicate ”the look”. I saw a beautiful hairstyle on Pinterest that inspired me. Last night, I decided to try it out and see if I could copy it.

It’s never easy working on hair at the back of your head but I’m not unhappy with the results. I even received a few compliments.

To achieve this look, I used a clamp-free ceramic curling iron and an antique-looking hair clip that I bought at Walgreens.
